Cheung
Amy Cheung is a Hong Kong-based artist whose practice spans public art, installation, and community-based interventions. Educated at Goldsmiths, University of London and Slade School of Fine Art, Cheung is known for creating projects that engage with place, culture, and the relationship between people and their environments. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including representing Hong Kong at the 52nd Venice Biennale
Her relationship with coral reef awareness emerges through her broader interest in environmental engagement and public participation. By creating art that encourages audiences to reflect on their connection to the natural world, Cheung helps foster conversations about ecological stewardship and the importance of protecting vulnerable ecosystems. Her public art projects often invite communities to engage directly with environmental themes, transforming awareness into shared experience.
Through interdisciplinary and socially engaged artistic practice, Cheung uses art as a platform for dialogue, education, and reflection. Her work contributes to a deeper appreciation of nature and supports efforts to raise awareness about environmental challenges, including the conservation of marine ecosystems and coral reefs.
